What is Active release technique (ART)
Active release technique (ART) has been used for more than 30 years. It is a soft tissue technique. It involves the treatment of the body's soft tissues, typically muscles, by combining different movement patterns and manipulation therapy. It can be performed by a licensed health professional. The objective of ART is to identify, isolate, target the proper area in order to break up fibrosis or adhesions (scar tissue) build ups due to overload or repetitive use. It is known to accelerate the healing process.
